The Exploding Tomahawk is a Gear item that can be used for both Melee and ranged attacks. It is unlocked at level 40.

In-game description: Tomahawk the embeds itself into whatever surface (or agent) it hits, and violently explodes shortly thereafter.
Usage
The Exploding Tomahawk is one of the more unique weapons available in the game. It is a very powerful explosive weapon, despite the radius being reduced to 2.0 meters in a patch. It is very similar to C4 Explosives from games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, except the tomahawk can be thrown instead of tossed or dropped. This results in a higher velocity and range for each throw, making it fairly easy to hit and kill enemies at longer ranges. It is a very efficient weapon in direct combat as long as the tomahawk is close enough to the opponent, and can also be a useful melee weapon for finishing off an injured opponent or killing players with high speed builds below 175 health.
