Onslaught is Blacklight: Retribution's first co-operative PVE game mode, played on the map Centre. It was released in late February 2013 with patch 1.100. The game consists of up to four players fighting side by side against a variety of enemies, including infected enemies, members of The Order, and even infected dogs. Some enemies will wield weapons or makeshift riot shields that resemble a primitive version of the Barricade Mk.1, but the majority will simply storm up to you and use Melee attacks.
In addition to having players survive waves, Onslaught mode will also provide the players with objectives to complete throughout the duration of the match. There are a total of ten waves per match, each more difficult than the last. Once all team members are dead, the game ends. it is not possible to respawn, but a Revival Injector Mk.1 can be used to bring back fallen allies.
While the Depot is available, Hardsuits will be disabled in the mode. However, It is unknown if the AI will be able to use them. It is indeed possible to use a hardsuit but becareful when doing so as it can run out of ammo relatively quickly and inferno zombies can "burn you out", not to mention there are members of The Order that carry flamethrowers and stingers. If the hardsuit is destroyed while a player is still in it, they are dead and cant be revived, and will be forced to wait until the current wave is over to respawn.
Onslaught can be played in 4 different difficulty settings:
- Easy
- Medium
- Hard
- Hardcore (you can only kill enemies with a headshot).
Onslaught features a variety of enemies, with more powerful ones appearing in later waves.
- Normal infected
- Inferno Zombies- can damage the player directly in a hardsuit
- Infected Dogs
- Infected carrying makeshift riot shields
- Brute- an extremely dangeroes enemy with high amounts of health that attacks with ground stomps and charges
- The Order soldiers carrying Assault Rifles
- The Order soldiers carrying Shotguns
- The Order soldiers carrying flamethrowers
- The Order soldiers carrying Stingers
- The Order soldiers carrying Barricade Mk1's
